I like to count salsa as its own food group. It goes great with almost anything. Before going to California for my mission I don’t think I knew you could make your own salsa. However, I soon learned not only was it possible but relatively quick and easy. Bottled salsas are ok, but brands like Pace are really the McDonalds of salsa, you know there is better but it gets the job done. Recently I gave making my own salsa a try, and I think it turned out pretty great. I just sliced up tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, and galic then cooked it all in the oven. After that threw it all in a food processor until blended, and then added some cilantro, salt and lemon juice.
