So it has been way too long since I posted anything new on my blog. Work, family, and friends seem to all consume most of my time. Then when I have a free couple of minutes I rarely choose to spend them at my computer. Regardless, I did want to share some new music I recently made. For anyone who does not know, I make music by sampling pieces of old vinyl records. Most of these records I buy used at thrift stores. This has become a habit/addiction, and I always seem to have a pile of records I have not even listened to. Several weeks ago I had a Saturday night to waste while my wife worked. I decided to grab a few records out of my stack of random thrift store purchases, and decided to try something new. I wanted to take 6 records I had never heard before and make a short mix of beats with samples from each. The result was "Thrift Store Mix #1" This probably is not my best or most polished work, but its short and fun, and best of all only took a Saturday night to make. I decided to throw it up on aBandcamp page, where I also put some other beat collections I have made over the years for friends. For anyone wanting to know more about my music check out my new music page.
