Just wanted to do a quick blog post with my suggestions for a last minute Christmas gift. Almost all of these are things I recently purchased, enjoyed, or can be easily given at the very last minute. 5$ - unlimited www.amazon.com First suggestion is an amazon gift card. I found how easy these are to give when I needed a last minute birthday gift for my Dad, who is currently living in Germany. With shipping time that can take a few weeks for anything sent in the mail, I was instead able to email him the gift card the day of his Birthday. The other great thing about an amazon gift card is that it can be used for anything you could think of. Also with most people now owning a smart phone or tablet, gift cards are especially great for downloading books, movies and music. 50$ - 195$ www.warbyparker.com Second suggestion is a pair of glasses from Warby Parker. This may not work for just anyone, but is something I have personally enjoyed a lot. Warby Parker offers a limited selection of prescription glasses, sun glasses, and even monocles. With most pairs costing just 95$, which includes prescription lenses, they are not the highest quality. However, they do look great and offer many hard to find contemporary styles. Another plus to these glasses is Warby Parker's program which is similar to Toms shoes. When you purchase a pair of glasses, Warby Parker gives away a pair for free to someone that needs it even more than you. With Warby Parker being an online store they allow buyers to try before they buy, and will send up to six different frames to try on at home. After trying a few out myself I decided on a pair, and have really enjoyed them. They offer holiday themed physical gift cards shown above, as well as e cards that can be emailed out the same day of purchase. Last suggestion I can give is a gift box service called 12 Society. This company brings together a celebrity "style board" to offer a different surprise box each month that is catered towards each specific recipient. I tried it back in June when they first started. Instead of buying the first box I gifted it to myself to see how it works. After purchasing I gave my email as the gift recipient. Right after I received an email saying I was given the box and was asked several questions including shirt size, shoe size, and several personal style preference questions. What arrived a few weeks later, was a nicely shipped black box full of Unique gifts. In this particular box I got a pair of incase headphones, 2 iPhone cases with screen protectors, nose hair trimmer, shave gel, a sports watch, and a bottle of Tapatio hot sauce. Everything was either interesting or worked well, and overall was worth the 40$ I had paid for it. This option I think would work well for someone you don't know much about, but needs something more personal than another boring gift card. With each months box offering something new, it will be a surprise to everyone what is received, but for me that is half the fun. 50$ - 360$ www.moviepass.com Extra bonus idea is something I have not tried myself, and therefore can't recommend enthusiastically. However, it is a new idea and could be well worth the price tag to anyone who is a true movie lover. Movie Pass, is like Netflix, but for physical movie theaters. Pass holders pay anywhere from 30 to 50 a month depending on where they live, and can see unlimited movies at just about any local theater. If you see more than 3 or 4 movies a month this pass could quickly pay for itself. There are some fine print with the passes, and I have read 3D and IMAX movies are not included. In the past this has been a year subscription, but I just checked their website and it looks like they are now offering one month, three months, and one year subscriptions which range from 50$ up to 360$. In my opinion the exciting thing about these passes would be opening up the posibilties of seeing any movie anytime. This means watching movies that before you would have never "wasted" the money on. For me some of the best movies are those I know nothing about and have no expectations for. Extra double bonus idea, which is somewhat selfishly motivated, is my recently re-released Winter EP. I produced and recorded all 4 songs and my good friend Andrew raps on each. For this new version we created new art work and made two Christmas themed bonus tracks. Best part of this idea is all 6 songs can be yours for just 0.99$.
